Finally....i am deciding to blog...douno how far its gonna work out and how long my interests for blogging lasts.. :)
i would like to start blogging about my most memorable day when i joined FUNSCHOOL as a teacher.yes.....its the kindergarden school where i started my new and a different line of career after marriage.Teaching profession had always been in my thought since my childhood.During my school days, I had a board in my house.I used to imagine as if 10 students are sitting infront of me and i would act like a teacher and teach them,scold them,beat them,correct my own notes as if it were others and sign it adding "V.Good, Neat, Excellent....". The funniest part is i would even ask my appa,amma,chindamma(my grandma) to sit infront of the board and teach them.(ha ha)
I had 2 friends near my apartment whom i happened to meet in a supermarket with their cute kids. I had been longing for friends near my apartment and that luckily happened to be tamilians.While i was talking to one of them, i heard that her kid Nikhil goes to Funschoo
l and my friend really gave a good opinion about the school and the principal . So i just want to go and try there.
One fine morning,around 11 , i made a call to that school. Jansi,one of the staff happened to attend the call. I asked , " is there any vacancy for a teacher post in ur school?".It was in the month of July.The academic year just has started.So they were actually in search of Assistant teachers.Jansi replied "yes,u can walk in with ur resume and meet our principal". I thanked her and dint want to waste a minute.Immediately taking my resume and fotograph i started. The school was just 1.5kms from my apartment. I reached the school around 11.20 am. I went inside the school and met Ajeeta,who was the coordinator there.She asked me about myself and made me sit in the office room and said that the principa has gone out and will be back in 10 mins. I waited ....
After some time the principal came.Her name is Candice B Mathews. She is such an amazing lady i had ever met. Her walk,her dressing style,the way she speaks,her english accent, the way she used to handle kids and read their mind,the administration style ......everything is just extraordinnary. She is very clear of what she is doing and is really very much bold enough to face anything and everything :) jus luv her :)
She interviewed me and we were talking for some 15 mins and she said i can join from the very next day. I was really very happy that i achieved what i want and was excited about the next day.
July 13th 2008 - The day i joined Funschool as an Assistant teacher for class Nursery(we call it as "Right start").....................
